Volunteer Opportunities
Recreation

Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation and the city of Vancouver provide an exciting and diverse recreation program for all ages, interests and abilities at local community centers. Volunteers are an important asset to the operation of these centers.  Most volunteer opportunities are available to community members who can make a weekly commitment for six or more months.  Please review specific commitment levels for each opportunity before applying.  To complete a volunteer application click here.

Firstenburg Community Center (700 NE 136th Ave.)

  • Youth sports - Coaches are needed for soccer, t-ball, basketball and other sports.

  • Climbing wall - Help kids and adults negotiate Firstenburg Community Center's climbing wall: Sadri's Summit.

  • Trapedero II - The senior area at Firstenburg hosts a number of programs and events throughout the year.

  • Scanner - Help greet customers, check people in, answer questions and check out equipment.

Marshall Community Center (1009 E. McLoughlin Blvd.)

  • Access to Recreation - Mentor and assist citizens with disabilities to enjoy the various recreational programming opportunities.

  • Fitness program - Fitness coaches and trainers are needed..

  • Day camps for kids - Help staff run exciting summer day camps. Call 360-487-7100 for more information. Closed for the season

  • Youth sports - Coaches are needed for soccer, t-ball, basketball and other sports.

  • Peer mentor - assist children with disabilities in after school programs or day camps.

  • Adult enrichment - Class instructors, special events, presenters, fundraising, etc.

  • Urban youth program - Call 360-487-7100 for more information.

Luepke Community Center (1009 E. McLoughlin Blvd.)

  • 50 and Better activities - Class instructors, presenters, special events committees, senior advisory committee, bands, bingo callers, club leaders, entertainment, etc.

  • 50+ volunteer hostess program - Customer service and administrative support at Luepke.

  • Hike and walk program - Planning and orientation leaders for hikes and walks.

  • 50+ travel program - Travel Planners, drivers and office assistants needed.

  • Special events - Marshall and Luepke centers hosts a number of special events throughout the year. Call 360-487-7050 for more information.

  • Loaves and Fishes meals - Help serve and deliver meals to seniors.

Vancouver Tennis Center (E. 18th Street & Stapleton Road)
